Load up on the bug repellent and pack your picnic basket, Lake Georgians! This year, the very first Lake George Film Festival will take place from July 10-12, 2017, at Charles R. Wood Park. Doors to the festival will open at 6pm and there will be live music, food and drinks to entertain you before the sun goes down so films can be screened beginning at 8:30pm. Films will be shown on a giant inflatable screen and entry is free!

According to the festival’s Facebook page, there have already been “over 200 short and feature films from 15 different countries” for the very first festival. There are categories for Best Picture, Best Short Movie, Best Drama, Best Documentary, Best Comedy, Best Music Video, and Best Animation. Filmmakers from all over the world will be in attendance to discuss their films and answer questions. Nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks and brimming with artful culture, Lake George is the perfect setting for a film festival like this.

The Festival Commons at Charles R. Wood Park are a sight to be seen. The Commons sit on 2.5 impeccably landscaped acres and includes a children’s playground, a skate park, and water features. It’s the perfect place for live concerts, performances, fairs, markets, and corporate events. There is an event here almost every weekend of the summer, making it the perfect location for the inaugural Lake George Film Festival. Charles R.
