Positions Available starting April 15, May, June & July 1
to work through Labor Day or Columbus Day
| * Reservations
/ Guest Services: |
|
Duties include working with Campground Manager our computerized reservation system,
Point of sale (POS) daily entry and reports, daily closings,
guest check-in and out, cashier, customer service - including
handling difficult guests, telephone reservations, discount ticket sales, and will
be crossed trained for general store. Other duties include possible long periods of standing, cash drawer responsibility and cash drawer balancing, and preparation of arrival and late arrival packets. There will be some light cleaning as well. You will be required to work Express Check-In, this involves being outside rain or shine while providing great customer service. During July and August there are high volume telephone calls and check-ins. This position requires good diplomatic skills when dealing with rule enforcement and customer concerns. We are looking for employees who can think outside of the box when solving customer concerns or complaints. |
| * Housekeeping Dept.: |
|
Our expert Housekeeping staff is a major reason why we have
received a 5W rating for our facilities from Woodall's. It
is one of our most important jobs and we want our staff to
take pride in their work and maintain excellent cleaning standards.
We have 55 rental units, 5 restroom buildings, laundry, rec
bldg and offices. Our housekeeping team has approximately
17-19 people. Similar to all departments, Housekeeping operates
on 3 shifts continuously from 6 a.m. until midnight each day
during July and August. You may be assigned to any shift or
a mixture of shifts during the workweek. Work is physical and, at times, very fast-paced. Team members must be in good physical condition, willing and able to kneel and rise repeatedly, and climb short ladders into and work in low-ceiling cabin lofts. Occasional lifting of supply baskets will be required (10-15 pounds). The department relies heavily
on procedures, standards, checklists, systems and processes
in order to accomplish its responsibilities, so all staff
must have the ability to comprehend and implement them with
a high degree of consistency. |
| * Maintenance Department: |
|
Responsibilities include general repairs, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning, automotive and equipment repair, vending machine repair, pool operation, site cleanups after each guest departure, LP gas pumping, and general all around handyman. You must supply your own basic tools and the position involves moderate physical activity. Our work is mostly fault finding and repairing, with some new work. We have a lot of customer contact as well as a lot of interdepartmental contact, so people skills are a must. Some work may need to be done outside in the rain and heat. It is not necessary to have experience in all of the above areas but you must be effiecient in at least four. |
| * Gate Attendant/Security/Ranger: |
|
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: manning the entrance gate,
visitor log control, checking vehicle passes, traffic entry/exit control, ranger
patrol, site audits, responding to guest requests/complaints policies and/or violation
enforcement of campground rules, and overall responsibility
for security throughout the resort as outlined in the Security Department manual. The Security department operates 24/7 during July and August so you may be assigned to work any given shift. All individuals need to be flexible, self-starters, accept the seriousness of duties assigned, have the ability to follow through on issues and be able to adapt readily to change. Security personnel should possess friendly outgoing personalities and present a positive attitude to guests and fellow colleagues at all times.
|
| * Retail: |
|
Duties include working with Campground Manager, our computerized Point of sale (POS) system. Other duties include long periods of standing, cash drawer responsibility and cash drawer balancing. Both of our retail stores are extremely fast paced. Guests are amazed at the variety of items we have to offer and have fun shopping. In our stores, the guest always comes first; we try not to have guest wait in line to pay for their purchases whenever possible. There is also stocking involved in keeping the store looking inviting. There will be some lifting and light cleaning to keep our stores in good condition for our guests. |
| * Fun and Games: |
|
From our warm smiles and greetings for every guest to the moment we wave goodbye, our activities are singularly focused on ensuring families are having fun and making memories that will last a lifetime. "Ambassadors of Fun" may fulfill any number of roles, offering a full daily complement of events, crafts and games, special theme-week activities, organized sports for all ages, line-dancing lessons, daily world-famous frog hunts and weekly movie-nights, as well as our old-fashioned bonfire, complete with entertainment and an appearance by our own bonfire mascot, "Toasty".
We lead exciting tubing trips on the picturesque Schroon River bordering our resort, engage bandits with super-soakers in heated battle as we conduct train and wagon rides, sift through mining "rough" with kids on the search for that perfect gem, assist families as they embark on canoe, kayak or electric boat excursions, prepare guests to zoom away on pedal carts, and play area host as we safely escort guests in our comfortable shuttle to and from Lake George Village. Our associates are highly energetic, flexible and fun-loving people who (don't take themselves too seriously and) enjoy working with children, families and one another. |
