Our camping season may be over, but here’s a camper feature to hold you over until you’re back at Lake George Escape in 2018!

Located in the beautiful Adirondack region of upstate New York, take the I-87 and you’ll easily find Lake George Escape, which is located on the East River in Lake George, New York. This 178-acre resort is surrounded by forest, meadows, and the huge, six-million-acre Adirondack Park.

Although Lake George Escape is off the beaten track, it’s still conveniently close to fun family attractions like Waterslide World, and The Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom. So, whether you’re looking for a fun, family adventure, or a relaxing way to spend time together, Lake George Escape has the perfect setting for your entire family.

Cottages, RVs and Tent Camping

One of the great things about Lake George Escape is that it offers a variety of accommodations for every type of outdoor retreat. Whether you’re an experienced RVer, love pitching the tent, or want to enjoy the luxury of a log cabin, you’ve got a lot of accommodations to choose from.

Activities Galore

The beauty of vacationing at Lake George is that you can get away from your busy life while having a vacation that suits your entire family, even if you have different opinions on how you’d like to spend your summer.

For someone who wants to disconnect and unwind, there’s no better way to de-stress than relaxing next to this beautiful glacial lake and enjoying the sounds of the forest – which feature sugar maple, American beech, yellow birch, white pine, and hemlock trees that are hundreds of years old.

But what if your companions are “bored” by all this relaxing and doing “nothing?” Not to worry! We have nonstop activities that are available all season-long. We offer everything you could want, including mini golf, an arcade, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, pedal carts, tubing and kayaking, fishing, horseshoes, shuffleboard, fossil hunting and gem mining, plus the river and pool for swimming! You can swim in one of our two heated pools, or at our amazing beach.

With crafts, bonfires, and s’mores, kids of all ages (and adults, too!) will have a summer to remember at Lake George Escape.

There’s Always Friends Around

For the past five years, Jennifer Satas and her family have been spending their summers at Lake George Escape Campground. With direct access to the Schroon River, it’s no wonder that Jennifer’s family, which includes her husband, two boys, and her mother, fell in love with Lake George Escape, and have chosen to return year after year.

“There are awesome activities for the kids,” Jennifer says, “they love the pool and playground, riding their bikes, tubing on the river, wagon rides and s’mores in the evening.” There’s no shortage of things to do at Lake George Escape, but one of the main reasons that Jennifer’s boys—who are nine and six— love spending their summers here, is because of the friends they make. There are always other kids around to play with, and her kids make fast friends —strong friendships that last throughout the summer and beyond.

The campground is a place for kids to enjoy a traditional childhood – biking, running through the woods, climbing trees, swimming, fishing, and playing games with other children. Here, Jennifer’s kids are communing with nature, not their tablets.

“The Activities Director here is amazing,” Jennifer says. “She’s so good to my boys, she knows their names; it really gives us a family feeling.”

For Jennifer, who lives an hour south of Lake George Escape, the RV lifestyle is ideal for her whole family. Jennifer’s husband, who works during the week, can join the family on weekends, and occasionally, her brother visits to take the boys fishing. “We do a lot with the kids,” she says, “and in the evenings, my husband and I enjoy their live music and dancing while my Mom watches the boys. There’s even paint and sip classes! We’re always busy with the kids, but we also have enough time to relax here.”

The Satas’ dog, Nigel, isn’t left out, either. The pet-friendly resort has a new dog park, which their little Chihuahua loves to run around in. Jennifer and her family frequented Lake George Escape this past spring all the way through mid-August. They made it back to Lake George Escape in time for a fall flight to enjoy the Adirondack foliage and cooler weather.

Makin’ s’mores!

Ultimately, the RV lifestyle offers this busy family a way to unwind and enjoy the benefits of nature throughout the summer. Lake George Escape’s proximity to their home ensures a relaxing summer for the entire family, who can integrate work and play while maximizing the time they spend together.
