This area has plenty of events to satisfy anyone’s cultural fancy.
Lake George Jazz Festival, Shepard Park Amphitheatre, Sept. 16 & 17
Every year, talented jazz musicians from all over take to the stage at the Shepard Park Amphitheatre for the Lake George Jazz Festival. This year’s annual festival takes place September 16-17. This is a free event that showcases a diverse mix of jazz musicians’ playing styles, and instruments from every era of the last century. It’s truly a “tribute to jazz innovation” and is not to be missed.
Festival goers can take in the stunning, sonic sounds of jazz by listening on the lawn in front of the Shepard Park Amphitheatre with a perfect view of the beloved Lake George in the background. Picnics are encouraged as there is no better way than to sip a beverage and eat fancy cheeses while listening to jazz. Own a boat? You can enjoy the festival by floating right up behind the stage where the music is just as audible.
