Lake George Music Festival, August 11 – 24, 2017

August 4th, 2017 - Filed under Events

The town of Lake George, New York is a lakefront community and beloved summer destination nestled in the Adirondack mountains. It’s no wonder that such a beautiful place would hold equally as beautiful events like the Lake George Music Festival which brings classical musicians from conservatories all over the nation to play live chamber music concerts, orchestra concerts, special rehearsals, and workshops for two weeks in August. In 2015, residents and visitors of Lake George cast their votes on lakegeorge.com to declare that The Lake George Music Festival was a “Best Annual Event” and in 2016, the festival was nominated as “Non-Profit Business of the Year” in 2016 by the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The festival kicks off with dinner and dancing at the Fort William Henry Hotel on August 11 ($50 per ticket). Other events include a rooftop performance, a presentation of Igor Stravinsky’s, The Soldier’s Tale, a wine and chamber music fusion event, and much more. For some events, a portion of ticket proceeds will go to a nonprofit organization that benefits young people in the arts. Event attendees have the option of purchasing tickets for single events or from a series of festival passes. Be sure to check the website for more information on tickets and events.

If you’re seeking a rock n’ roll approach your music festival experience, close out your late summer festivities in Lake George at The American Music Festival for the Lake, September 24 & 25 in Charles R. Wood Park. Classic 70s/80s rock band, Blue Oyster Cult, will make an appearance, as well as performances by Sly Fox and the Hustlers (blues and rock n roll), Gratefully Yours (Grateful Dead cover band).

Charles R. Wood Park is located just a 14-minute drive from Lake George Escape Campground.
